Rob

Robin is SquidInk Tattoo’s founder and also the senior artist. He specialises in large Japanese work and likes nothing better than losing himself in the artistically dramatic world of koi, dragons, Samuri, hanya masks and onis. Wind bars (known as ‘kaze’) also feature heavily, along with symbolic waves and Japanese flowers. 

Over time Rob has developed his own interpretation of Polynesian designs, mixing fine dot work with subtle water shading to contrast with the stark black patterns.

Rob constantly innovates and develops his artistic skills. He has gradually introduced the mixing of tessellated and mandala patterns, which integrate beautifully in his stunning designs. More recently he’s also embraced more traditional British and American designs, and creates wonderful black and grey portraits.
